We dined regularly. The food was amazing for the price & wine reasonable. There's nowhere half decent to eat in town.We witnessed first hand Dani getting off with some customer and leaving early at half nine with a full restaurant rudely arguing with Ra. We were shocked at how the staff treated Ra. When we eventually asked why he put up with that, he replied that there were just no job candidates applying. James & Martin, Redruth

This, undoubtedly, eccentric landlord may have come from a solitary self-sufficient profession. I saw his staff take the piss. I was offered free booze & a tankard for a big tip. His Redruth project was too ambitious and took no account of rural country with subdued education, lack of adult training opportunities; out of control benefits; drugs & alcohol nanny culture. Staff philosophy can either be to be sour from their own choices remaining welfare winners or perhaps feel pleased that they got away with it for so long but look forward to their self-improvement.

Danny used to have josie and her daughter in daily for food. That's not been mentioned though has it?! Or that you often gave her a bottle or two of red wine at the end of a shift.. But I will say what I think on the matter and agree that you had the very best of intentions. You were a good boss Ra. You paid well. Fed us a decent meal whenever we wanted. You wouldn't even except payment for meals when I popped in with friends. You had a hard time from the locals for sure...You were the best restaurant boss I've ever had...
